Waiting for an update dns-server or ...

After registering a new domain or transferring a domain to another hosting (changing ns-servers), it is necessary to wait about 24 hours for the information of dns-servers around the world to be updated (for some Internet providers it may take longer - up to 72 hours). But if you need to work with the site now, there are several ways to do it.

File hosts

In the Windows operating system on your work machine, you need to edit the hosts file, which determines the correspondence of domain names to IP addresses and is located here - \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Please note that the file must be without an extension, as in the picture above. Use any text editor for editing (notepad ++ is recommended). In order to find out which IP address corresponds to the domain, you need to go to the hosting control panel in the World Wide Web - WWW domains section and see which IP address corresponds to the domain of interest. For example, the domains site1.com and site2.com are located at 213.155.3.57 - thus, you need to add to the hosts file:

213.155.3.57 www.site1.com site1.com
213.155.3.57 www.site2.com site2.com

After saving the file, site1.com and site2.com on your computer will respond from the IP address 213.155.3.57, i.e. already with a new hosting - you can work and edit the site.

Alias immediate access for domain

The second way is to create a so-called immediate access domain (alias). To create such a domain (alias), you need to contact our support service (through your personal account, from your account) and inform that you do not want to wait for the dns servers to be updated and you need to work with the site now - our staff will make a domain like your login.our domain - and you or your team can work and edit the site.
